Humble Freedom Bundle

Well this is really cool. I want to stay away from politics as much as I can on this blog, but this is totally on topic and I can certainly get behind this! Right now, for the next 4 days, Humble Bundle is offering a huge grab bag of great games and books in response to reality TV star / former fictitious owner of the WWE / president of the United States Donald Whats-hisface’s recent (unsuccessful) attempt to bar out visitors and refugees from 7 Muslim majority countries. 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the ACLU, MSF/Doctors Without Borders and the International Rescue Committee. For the minimum price of 30 dollars you can currently get 56 games, 8 audiobooks and a digital album, more may be added before this is finished. At the time of this writing Humble Bundle has raised $4,806,477 and has pledged to match contributions up to $300,000. I think it’s wonderful, and regardless of what your stance on this topic is; 50+ games is a fantastic incentive to donate. You can participate here. *A few of the games have sold out, but The Witness and Stardew Valley are worth the $30 alone!

  1. I can’t say that I condone the spirit of this Bundle. When Obama won the elections I thought the Republicans acted really childish, but the aftermath to Trump’s victory is unbelievably worse. Oh well, even if I think politics brings out the worst in people I won’t say no to video game deals 🙂

    1. I’m staying out of it. I despise the guy, so I just don’t even say his name and I prefer to just leave it at that. His name only only invokes more anger, fear and nastiness and half the time I don’t even know if what I hear on the news is entirely true or not anymore so I’ve withdrawn myself from engaging in the arguments that are literally tearing the people I love apart right now. If anything good has come from this election for me personally it’s that I’ve been trying to find little things I can do in real life to help. I spoke out a lot against Obama as well, but it was never anything more than just that – me mashing my keyboard and shouting at alongside everyone else on social media. I believe they’re calling it hash tag activism and to me that is just super lame. The other day someone told me I was being “socially irresponsible” and I just smiled and nodded haha.
