First Impressions – Only If

After seeing the promo trailer for Only if I had no idea what to expect. To be honest, I still don’t. This indie game created by Creability is an experimental what if adventure puzzle game, available on steam, that has kept me on my toes from the beginning.

The puzzles in this game so far are incredibly clever. Whats interesting, is that although there are choices that the player can make in the game, the option the player should take is subliminally given in the previous puzzle or scene. Which in turn puts the control of each puzzle back into the creators hands even though the player is still making a choice.

I would also like to point out that the interior decorating in this game is very interesting to say the least. Never did I expect to wake up in an odd room after getting wrecked at a crazy party to find several beautiful still life landscaping portraits, and a blown up image of an anime girl staring at me with her who-haws. Not to mention the interesting frame choice?

Although I have barely started the game I am pleasantly surprised with where it has gone so far. It has surpassed any pregame expectations that I held and I cannot wait to get more into the story behind what is actually happening.

Also, it has taught me to never go to parties at bizarre mansions and get black out drunk. Thanks for the good lesson Creability!

    1. I do too! Especially because this game complwtely takes a different route based on what you do. Every choice takes you to a new puzzle and you can’t go back. The only problem that I’ve seen so far is that the menu is incredibly glitchy. I was unable to go back to my saved game.
