Unfortunately I don’t recommend paying 9.99$ it unless you really plan on building your Wii U digital collection because, as we all know by now the very (hopefully!) promising looking Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3, 2017. It’s also not certain what the Switch’s Virtual Console selection will consist of or if Nintendo has any plans of letting their customers transfer any of their content.
It’s an unfortunate situation. I have wanted to see Starfox 64 on Wii U since I purchased mine at launch. Unfortunately I think it’s safe to say that if you are on the market for a new game, or are feeling nostalgic, you’d be better off waiting until we know how Nintendo will handle backwards compatibility and Virtual Console titles in general when it finally does hit the shelves. If for some reason anyone reading this does buy it though I’d love to hear how well it holds up on a modern television! And remember that Starfox 64 was also revamped for the 3DS!!!
